Review soulslings AseemA Kiro

Review soulslings AseemA Kiro

AseemA is the new carrier from soulslings, AseemA means ‘limitless’ in the Indian language Kannada.
I was lucky enough to test this carrier. AseemA is an adjustable carrier wearable from approximately 3.2 kg till 20 kg (newborn to toddler). The carrier is adjustable in height and in seat wide.
I used this carrier a lot over the last 2 weeks, partially because my back and ribs where blocked and wrapping was to painfull but mostly because it's such a comfortable carrier.
I tried it with a variety of ages, which gives me a pretty good idea on how easy it is to adjust from one child to an other. The kids I tried it with are, 5 months, 9 months, 1.5 year and almost 2 year. Sadly enough I didn't have a newborn to try it with.
For the 5 month old I put the setting in between the smallest and medium setting, for the 9 month old on the medium setting, for the 1.5 year old in between the medium and biggest setting and for my 2 year old on the biggest setting.
The wide of the seat adjust with strong velcro inside the waistband (as you can see in the pictures below), the height adjust with a sliding system inside the shoulder straps.
The AseemA has a wider and firmer waistband as the other carriers I'm used to using from soul, I find it very comfortable, especially with my almost 2 year old I can feel the difference.
The shoulder straps are also different from other soulslings carriers, they are thicker and softer then for example the AnoonA carrier.

Besides differences between AseemA and other carriers this one also has some new features.
The most innovative new feature has to be the detachable lumbar support pad. This pad can be put on the waistband with front carries and give extra back support. This pad really helped me the last 2 weeks carrying all the kids here with the pain in my back. (picture below of the pad, inserted and picture of the pad on itself)
Then you have the detachable pouch that goes on the waistband below the back panel. The pouch is big enough to hold a phone, keys, some money and some cards and so on, it has a leach to use it as a pouch without the carrier as well. (pictures below of this pouch of the inside and the outside)
The hood on the AseemA is detachable as well.
Apart from this, the AseemA has one other big difference from the AnoonA, and that's the deep seat, the AseemA allows for a deeper seat than the AnoonA, which I think a lot of people might like, including myself.

As I told before I used this carrier with a variety of babies, with the 5 month old I can't pull the shoulder straps as tight as I would have liked, I'm fairly skinny and for me the straps are just a tiny bit to long to get a very small baby snug against me. I tried to cross the straps on my back with the little one and this did wonders for getting a snug and tight fit with her aswell. On the other hand the straps are very long, and thanks to this can be used by caregivers of all sizes, which makes it an other inclusive carrier as all of soulslings carriers.
The other little negative point I found was the adjusting of the hight of the backpanel, my almost 2 year old likes to pull her arms out and likes to lean, because of this leaning, she sometimes pushes down the top part of the back panel which reduces the hight of the backpanel. I have asked other parents that have tried this carrier and haven't heard from any others that have this issue, so I guess it's just my squirmy leaning toddler.

So to sum it all up, I really like this carrier, it's well made, very easy to adjust and very easy and comfortable to use with all ages, for front aswell as in back carries. The little extra's like the pouch and the lumbar pad make this carrier a great carrier!

Review Fiddling weaver sunahara

Review Fiddling weaver Sunahara
50% peppermint, 25% hemp, 25% egyptian cotton, 320 gr/m, 4.1m+fringes

I was over the moon when I heard I would get the chance to try a wrap from fiddling weaver, I have been eyeing Milena's wraps for a while allready cause they look so elegant and soft.
And the color of the wrap I received was indeed very elegant, with a gold/bronze and dark to light blue. It will give that little extra touch of style on a fancy party but will also make your day in pj's look great! The design in the weave is very subtle but very nicely done aswell.
And they feel like they look, so soft, even though the wrap feels fairly thin in hand it wraps like a cloud. I can't say the wrap has cush when you feel it in hand but once wrapped you feel that the wrap is cushy on your shoulders, no pulling or cutting into my bony shoulders. Sunahara feels very drappy which is the main reason for my love of most handwovens, I can't find this feeling in machine woven wraps and not even in all handwovens but yes fiddling weaver has got the drappyness I love.
This wrap is super moldable and very strong at the same time, it has a nice amount of stretch but without getting saggy to quickly.
I mostly wrapped my 1.5 year old but also managed to get my big boy of 4.5 up for some cuddles in this wrap the last day of it's visit. It held up fantastically with him aswell!
I had heard of peppermint in a wrap before, and heard it was very supportive, shiny but slippery. Well I was not dissapionted, it's mixed up in this wrap with hemp and cotton but the wrap was indeed very shiny and supportive but I didn't think it was to slippery, maybe because of the hemp that is in the mix, maybe because of the weave, not sure.
Also this was my first ever wrap with fringes and wow do I like how they look, and in a cccb I just could not stop fiddling with them (yes pun intended hihi). I usually always want something in my hand to keep me busy so I found it great to have these fringes to play with.

If you want to know more about this great weaver go have a look at her facebook page, where she posts her inspirational pictures and pictures of wraps that she's weaving at the moment or in the coming future.  https://www.facebook.com/FiddlingWeaver/

And here a few pictures with this wrap, we only had it a few days so not that many pictures but it still shows how it wraps and you can see how supportive it looks with my big boy.

review rowan bay linen proto Sorbu naty

Review Rowan Bay linen proto
Combed cotton warp with natural linen weft, size 3

A few weeks ago we had a very special wrap visiting, it was a linen prototype named sorbus naty.
Yes naty, an all white, untouched by colour, wrap. A little scary to wear an all white wrap when you use your wraps all day long like I do, from cooking to cleaning the house, from going to the store to going for a walk in the forest. But we managed to keep it clean and white.
The design is very discretely visible because it is a naty, but it's really nice to see the design reflect in the sun.
When I first opened the box this wrap felt so so soft, not at all what I would expect from a wrap with a high amount of linen. This wrap came to me fully broken in already. I washed it because there was a little stain on it and it became a little less soft but after 2 little walks with my little one it was soft as a kitten again.
This wrap has a lot of glide and not that much grip, it's very smooth to the touch which is very noticeable when wrapping, re-tightening was necessary when my little one moved around a lot.
Sorbus naty has a small amount of stretch, more then I'm used to from other linen wraps I have tried.
Overall this was a really nice introduction to this brand and hope to try more of their wraps in the future.
This wrap is in my opinion great for all ages and all wrappers.

Rowan bay is situated in uk where the wraps are also woven.
Here is the link to the site https://www.rowanbay.com/ where you can find some info about the brand aswell as wraps that are for sale
And here is the link to their facebook page where you can find updates on releases of their wraps https://www.facebook.com/rowanbaywovens/
Here are 2 pictures I managed to get with this wrap, the weather wasn't very good in the days this wrap was visiting so we didn't go out much.

Review sestrice carrier geo mountain top

 Review Sestrice carrier geo mountains

You all know I’m a fan of the wrap brand Sestrice, so when I saw they where bringing out a carrier I just had to get my hands on one to try out. The carriers come in 2 sizes, a standard size and a plus size.
Both are adjustable in height and seat wide. I got to test the standard size and will hopefully try the plus size soon aswell.

The standard size can be used with children from 3 months and up, but if you have a small baby it might take a little longer for them to fit in it. I tried with the 3 month old boy I nanny who is on the small side of the charts and the seat was still a little to wide for him to fit comfortably but I’m sure he’ll fit in a month or 2. I used this carrier almost every day since receiving it, with my 18 month old daughter who fit’s perfectly.
The wide of the carrier adjusts by pulling tight or letting go the straps which are located on both sides at the bottom of the back panel of the carrier.
The height adjusts the same way, these straps are located on both sides at the top of the back panel of the carrier just below the shoulder straps.
The carrier’s straps (shoulder straps aswell as chest and waist belt) are also very adjustable to fit caretakers of all sizes. My husband carried our daughter in it yesterday to go to the farmers market, his shoulders are much wider then mine but after some adjusting we found a perfect fit for him aswell.
The waistbelt is curved to follow your body’s curves perfectly, same goes for the curved shoulder straps to give the utmost comfort. The waistbelt and shoulder straps have a nice amount of padding in them to make them soft to wear even for longer walks. There is also a nice amount of leg padding so baby’s legs are comfortable aswell. The thickness of the padding in the sestrice carrier is the same thickness as the padding of tula carriers, to give you a comparing point.
Let’s check the safety clips next. The waistclip has a 3-point safety clip and an elastic safety on it. I’m not a fan of the 3 point safety clips as I like to be able to unclip with just one hand, but they are safer then the 2 point clip systems. The chestclip is different then any other carrier I have tried up till now and we love it! Both sides slide into each other and stay into place thanks to a little magnet that is incorporated into the system. The chest strap slides up and down on a reinforced fabric rail on the shoulderstraps to always get it at the perfect height for every wearer.
I choose for the geo mountain top design and it looks stunning on this carrier. The carriers all come with a pair of sucking pads and a detachable hood.
To recapitulate, this is a very well made carrier with very safe buckles, price-quality is also great as this is a full wrapconversion carrier for 165 euro's! I tried a lot of carriers and know that confortability in a carrier depends from person to person, but this is the most comfortable carrier for my body I have tried up to now.
Can’t wait to try a carrier plus.

Here is the link to the site where these carriers are sold:

Below you will find a few pictures of my 18 month old in the carrier and also some detailed pictures of all the pieces of the carrier that I mentioned above.

Review cuddle close wovens blue sky

Review cuddle close wovens blue sky
100% coton, approximately 325gr/m, 72cm width, 3.91m long

I had the honor to try out this wrap from cuddle close wovens last week. I loved the colors from the moment I opened the package, the middle of the wrap is made up by a delicate silver treat woven into the wrap, and a grey line in the middle, the blue of this wrap is like the name says it already a dark sky blue, it reminds me of the night sky with the middle area as the stars that shine bright thanks to the silver glitter threads.

The wrap feels a little rough in hand and has a lot of texture.
Blue sky has a very drappy feeling when having it in hand which is something I really like in a handwoven wrap and something I have only found in handwoven wraps and not yet in a machine woven. The degree of moldability in this wrap is a dream to wrap with.
It’s not a very thick wrap but thanks to the way it’s woven it is still fairly cushy on the shoulders.
Now let’s talk grip, this wrap is all about grip, it’s not the easiest wrap to use in a multi layered carry as it has almost no glide. I love a twisted pirate and Sheppard’s carry with a shorter wrap but had to finish them with a ring as my slipknot did not budge when I tried to tighten it. If you like a wrap that stays into place, then this is your wrap!
The wrap has a few irregularities, the rail of the wrap is not very straight but more wavy. I like little mistakes in my wraps cause they make them special to me and it shows that they are handmade with love.
I used this wrap with both my kids, ages 18 months and 4 years and it was great, no sagging even with my 4 year old the wrap was supportive enough. I also tried this wrap with the 3 month old I nanny and although I would prefer a softer wrap for such a little baby it is so moldable that it wraps as if you put a blanket around the both of you.The wrap does not have a lot of stretch which also makes that it is so supportable for bigger kids.
Overall I would say this wrap is suitable for all ages, but when it comes to the wrapper, I think a beginner wrapper might have some difficulties getting multiple layers in place because of it’s grip.

Cuddle close wovens is a new handwoven brand and will normally start selling wraps by draw to purchase in the near future.
If you want to know more about this weaver you can go have a look at her facebook page https://www.facebook.com/CuddleCloseWovens/

We took this cuddle close wrap out for a walk through the forest and got some fantastic pictures taken by Miriam Valognes of mixing little things.
Here they are, hope you enjoy
