review dolce contatto nautic bluette
This wrap is a size 6 100% coton, 300g/m²
When unpacking this wrap, which was very nicely package I must say, I immediately saw how shiny she was, she has a very luxurious feel and look.
What I also noticed was how perfect this wrap is hemmed, the seams are just perfectly straight without the slightest wave of the fabric as you usually see with most wraps, high end or not.
So after a first feel and check-up in the washer she went. I was happily surprised to see she kept her beautiful shine as I loved this about the wrap from the start.
I wasn't crazy about the design when I first saw it but it really grew on me and I will be very sad to see her leave ones testing is finished. I like the reference to the boats, marina, ocean, and as I love the ocean it was a great pleasure to have been able to test this dolce contatto and see the design in detail with my own eyes.
Nautic bluette is a pretty heavy wrap having a weight of 300 g/m² but surprisingly that doesn't make her stiff or heavy in hand, she feels in hand more like a medium weight wrap. She is pretty firmly woven and I feel that thanks to that tight weave it makes this wrap very toddler proof without making it a beast to wrap with.
This wrap does need some braking in before she becomes nice and mouldable and easy to wrap with, I gave her a nice bath ;) a lovely steam iron and after a few ups with my toddler this has become the perfect toddler wrap, very supportive, lots of cush on the shoulders and very important I think easy to wrap with. She is easy to work with, passes are nice and firm and stay in place.
But if you like wraps with some bounce to them this is maybe not the wrap for you, she is a little bit silky feeling without being slippery.
I tried single and double layered carries with this wrap and both where very supportive with my 2 year old, I think this wrap is perfect for older babies but a little to heavy for newborns. To get a nice cozy wrapjob for a newborn would be a bit difficult cause of the high weight of the wrap.
Dolce contatto is an Italian based wrapbrand created by a passionate mommy. Wraps are woven and finished in Italy. Wraps are between 75 and 95 euro's, so very affordable for a really good quality heavier wrap. I would recommend this wrap to anyone looking for an affordable easy to care for wrap with older babies.
I can't wait to see what else they will come out with in the future and hope to try a less heavy wrap with a new baby one day. I think this brand has a bright future ahead of itself, thanks to the great quality they offer, so stay tuned and don't forget the name 'dolce contatto'!
