Bijou wear decadence surf's up

Review Bijou wear decadence surf's up

100% cotton, 330gr/m, size 4

This wrap is not a tester but a wrap from my own collection of wraps. I'm making a review of this wrap just because I like wrapping with this one so much and want to share my excitement. I was following this brand for quit some time already and really wanted to try one of Jaime's wraps and then I saw a picture of decadence surf's up and I just knew that was 'THE' wrap for us. I filled out the preorder form as soon as possible and waited patiently until the wrap arrived.
I loved the colors straight away, I used to have a lot of blue wraps in my personal collection and although my 'wrapping colors' might have changed over the last year, blue is still one of the colors I love to wrap with, especially a bright, light blue like this one. The colors fit the name perfectly, surf's up, to go with this ocean blue and white wrap

The wrap came to me already washed so I can't say anything about it in loom state. When I got it, it was in need of some braking in. It's a rather thick wrap but became floppy and moldable fairly quickly. I have had this one now for about 2 months and it's my go to wrap to try out new carries with a  base -2 and after 2 months it's completely broken in.
It is very supportive even with my 3.5 year old and at the same time nicely soft for my almost 1 year old. We are in mid summer at the moment and have days of 30 degree weather, and even though this is a soft heavier wrap is doesn't feel like wrapping with a blanket like you can often have with a thick 100% coton wrap. Surf's up also has a lot of grip thanks to the weave of this wrap. It's a 100% coton wrap but when you look at it, it looks like there is linen in it also. The blue tread is really soft and has a silky feel to it where the white parts of the wrap are much rougher. (here a close-up picture of what I mean with it looking like a linen blend).

This wrap has a nice amount of bounce, and is fantastically cushy on my picky shoulders.
I think for a beginner wrapper this wrap might be a little much especially when not yet broken in. And maybe for a tiny tiny newborn I would also choose a different wrap. But otherwise for a baby of a few months old to toddlerhood this is the perfect all seasons and all purpose wrap.

Review Liora Rae Wovens Flow Cordelia

Review Liora Rae Wovens Flow Cordelia

96% coton, 4% cashmere. 355g/m², size 4

I received this wrap for testing just when I was participating in a short and fancy wrapping challenge so perfect timing to receive a base -2.

The color of this wrap is difficult to capture, it changes with different lighting. The pattern makes me think of the ocean, the waves and seashells.

The wrap has 4% cashmere in it but I have to say that this is not noticeable when wearing or touching it. I feel like a wrap needs at least 10% of a different yarn to feel a difference, but that's my personal opinion.
I found this wrap very comfortable to wrap with, much thinner in hand then you would expect when hearing it's weight, the weave is pretty dense which also makes it doesn't really feel like a heavy weight wrap when wrapping but it was also not to dense to make it a crunchy hard to handle wrap. Flow Cordelia was moldable and halfway to being broken in but could use a bit more wearing to get really perfectly broken in. There is not a lot of stretch or bounce in this wrap but it's still ok to make a nice chest pass. The wrap has a nice amount of stretch and with a little help slides nicely in place with multi layered carries. For me a good amount of grip, to much and I don't like it as it's to difficult to slide into place and not enough and I have to adust my carry every 5 minutes which I really dislike.

To sum it all up, I really liked having this Liora Rae wrap over for a visit, we had a lot of fun wrapping, back and front carries and even my big boy of 3.5 went up for a little bit. In a multilayered carry this wraps was still ok to carry him even though not for long as it started digging in my shoulders after a while.

Review Mima handwovens

Review Mima handwovens
100% coton, 350 m/gr, size 5 (4.30m)

I had the chance to test a wrap of this lovely handwoven brand Mima handwovens.

When I opened the package I was very pleasantly surprised to see such beautiful bright colors. I love colors in my wraps so this was just perfect for me. The weave of this wrap is pretty loose and the treads are pretty thick which make the wrap a little see-through. The wrap is heavy weight but feels in hand like a medium weight wrap and is so unbelievably floppy, just a dream to wrap with.

Wrapping wise it just wraps itself thanks to it's floppiness. The thicker treats used give this wrap a lot of relief. And thanks to the lose weave there is a lot of stretch to play with. It's very easy to tighten and to get nice passes that stay in place thanks to the thicker treats used in the weaving. I like a bit of stretch in my wraps but this one had just a tad to much to my liking.
I think this wrap would be perfect for almost all seasons except high summer here in south west of France where it is a bit to warm in high summer to wear this wrap. It's a bit blanket-like which makes it to warm to wear comfortably.

To conclude, I really liked this wrap and the colors are just so so beautiful!!
